Our journey began upon recognizing Alberta’s critical shortage of affordable, accessible housing. After engaging with the spinal cord injury community, it became clear what was required: solutions that create better outcomes for both property owners and individuals requiring accessible living.
In response to local policies that favoured backyard developments, we developed a strategy to help homeowners build barrier-free suites, directly addressing the housing shortfall.
